Mining still worth it?
« on: December 09, 2013, 12:46:50 AM »
Hey, guys. I am about to build a rig, but before I spend the money, I'm wondering approximately how much longer IFC has left, to be mined.

-I would spend about 1,000 dollars on the rig
-I live in a collective community so I don't have an electricity bill to worry about

Want to know if it would be worth it, since a lot of IFC coins have already been mined.

Would I be mining for a month, and then the coins would be effectively mined, and my rig would be out of a job?

What kind of numbers could I expect from mining for a month's time?

So yeah, approximate time length left to mine, worth it for a thousand dollar machine with 4 gpu amd
radeon, decent rig. Thanks!

Hey berm,

Actually, I was going to build the middle option from the link you sent me a few days back.

(Just a little unsure of my ability to get the software sinked after the hardware is connected) - I was running into the problem on my macbook, where it was returning a new block almost every five minutes, but not giving out any coin cause I was on the wrong block chain, I think is what it sounds like. I don't know how to fix that although I'm going to try. I'm expecting somewhere between 1300 kh/s and 2600 kh/s if I follow the directions correctly. And no bill for electricity. What do you think? Best.

I feel like unless you have a powerful rig , its not mainly because i have noticed the 10's of millions of coins that are being mined by single people , like c1010010 he gets (well should) around 8 - 17 million coins a day

well, if that's true, that's 300 million in a month's time (low end), which is about 1 billion in three month's time leaving two billion on the table during those three months, not telling how slow mining will get, how many other powerful rigs exist etc. Berm says you can get about 600,000 a day with the type of rig I want to build, so I would take that given the running cost of IFC that's on the market. However, would I be able to get that, and for how long? But enough footing around, I need to make a decision. Thanks for your input, noobular.

Don't forget , theres not just infinitecoin , thats why i'd still buy Asics and stuff theres more then bitcoin
get it , then mine another coin when this pit goes dry
