Mining in IFC client
« on: November 28, 2013, 02:24:43 PM »
Hello,

When I open Mining in IFC QT client there are fields Server, Port, User, Password. What should I write there to start mining?
And I tried to use Cgminer but as soon as I write there pool stats (coinex for example), the program just shuts down. BFG miner does the same...

Thank you.

i have no video sorry but use this

1-first go c:\user\yourname\appdata\roaming\infinitecoin

2-find file named infinitecoin.conf or add it by you

3-with any text editor open infinitcoin.conf and add:

rpcuser=choose a user name
rpcpassword=choose your password
rpcallowip=your local ip
rpcallowip=127.0.0.1
rpcport=9332
daemon=1
server=1
gen=0
addnode=63.246.129.56

4-download CGwatcher and install it and download (cgminer or bfgminer as you like)

5-start CGwatcher go to settings / manage profiles

6- click new -add a name to your profile like:IFC solo

7-localise you minerpath and add it (cgminer.exe or bfgminer.exe)

8-in miner arguments add : --scrypt -o yourlocalip:9332 -u yourname -p yourpassword

9-clik save and then click save setting

10- restart your wallet-qt first and now you can click on start mining in cgwatcher

enjoy!

verify your blockchain first it have to be more than 450000
look to my other post if your blockchain is in 265000

I have windows 8 64Bit, but it installs as portable software infinitecoin-qt.exe, CGWatcher-1.3.3 and cgminer-3.3.4-windows. I don't see the locations.

Example: When i press infinitecoin-qt.exe opens the program, Without installing it.
Is normal, or I need to create the files inside the folder Infinitecoin, CGWatcher and cgminer?

The location is C:\Users\myname\Desktop\ifinitecoin

C:\Users\myname\Desktop\CGWatcher

C:\Users\myname\Desktop\cgminer

All software works well
I open them by pressing exe..

Go to Treasurequarry.com  They're a p2p network. They have the links to the software needed for CPU mining. You'll need to use Minerd software. For now the difficulty is pretty steep for a CPU, but if you have something like one of the hotter 8 cores that will go to around 50 kh  you should receive a few coins. Don't expect millions though, maybe 300 a day. Again, at the current difficulty. Before everyone started mining heavy recently, I had one CPU miner taking in about 10K coins a day. Now you really need a 7950 card with an AMD chipset to do much mining. Good luck!

I can not find those cards in stock in Canada. They seem to be discontinued and the new top dog seems to be the 7970 but at over $400 per card and a 5 card limit, it is both pricey and limiting at the same time.

Do you know of a supplier of 7950?

Here is 7950 on NewEgg:

Here is the suggested alternative:

SAPPHIRE Vapor-X 100351VXSR Radeon HD 7970 GHz Edition 3GB 384-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 x16 HDCP Ready CrossFireX Support Video Card

Doing a google search I can find 7950s but the prices seems to be nuts.

Guys lets just say you had 5 x 7950 Radeons,

How much am I expected to mine with that Daily? And Is the power consumption even worth it?

Tuned optimally, each should get you 600-640.
I was getting 3Mh/s per rig.

When LTC was $1.95, no, it was not worth it. Now that it is 30-40... Hells-yes.

I paid about $150-175 per rig in elec per month.

The last couple of weeks have seen a major rush and demand for the 7950 cards. They were attainable for around $230 a couple of weeks ago, then boom, sold out and now selling around $350 if you can find them that is. There are alternatives available for more and less price wise. Here's a very good comparison chart to check out when considering GPU cards for mining. It's aimed at Litecoin but the info is compatible to all scrypt coins. The 7950 was the best bang for the buck, but with current price increases daily on the 7950, a move to a 7990 is looking better all the time. Hope it helps.
